Gilberto Oliva, Melanio’s grandson, embarked on a journey that took him across Central America, ultimately finding fertile grounds in Nicaragua. Today, the Oliva family stands as Nicaragua’s second-largest grower of Cuban-seed tobacco, employing time-tested methods of curing, blending, and rolling that have earned them acclaim worldwide.
